Questions regarding dry fasting.

I am 18yld 5’11 and weight 230 lbs. I’ve done alternate day fasting for about a month. First two weeks I did 2 day water fast Saturday and Sunday. The last two weeks I did a 4 day water fast Wednesday afternoon/night to Monday morning. Before this I weighted 250 so I lost about 20 pounds in a month. I also did weights for 3 days a week which where on my feeding days high protein low carbs. I want to try dry fasting. Any advice? How much weight can I lose? I want to weigh 190 pounds and then start eating more protein for muscle. I haven’t weight 230 since middle school so I’m feeling really good. I want to at least lose any 20 pounds this month but I want to see if there’s a way to push myself even harder and get better results.

Answer

It’s not rare to find people saying they lose 3 lbs a day dry fasting. https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/31958788/ , https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/24434757/

The only advice I think anyone needs starting out is to not suffer but a little discomfort is ok. The more you do it the longer you can go with no real pain.

Answer

DF can help a lot in your process.

You can start doing 1 day DF with 3 to 4 days water fast at the end.

As you will be more trained you can prolong the DF part and have more results.
