Quit my seven day fast on day four

Well, I was going to do a seven day bone broth fast. But I ended up only able to do three. Was feeling really sick by the end of day three. Intense fatigue in the morning on day four.

I’ve only ever intermittent fasted for long periods and water fasted for a day, so this was uncharted territory.

Broke my fast with some sardines and a splash of cream in my coffee.

Oh well.

You did great. I also broke a fast on day four this week when intending to go longer. Sometimes I breeze through the first few days, this one was hard and I felt I needed to eat! Back on it from tomorrow aiming for 7 days.

You’ll get the next one!

Good job!! 4 days is a long time, especially when you’re new!

I do find it easily to fast if I’m in ketosis before fasting so I don’t have to add that adaptation into the making the fast more difficult

Always listen to your body!

I’ve been wading in. Did my first 48 last week, did a 72 this week, might go for the 5-day next week, but I’m going to tread carefully.

I’ve had some rough times with even 48 and 72 and found that usually I can stave off breaking the fast by tending to my electrolytes and drinking a bunch of water. The only really bad issue that I’ve had is insomnia, and I’m trying to figure out a solution for that.

All this to say, if you REALLY want to try to push through a hard fasting day, maybe try adding more electrolytes or water. But I think it’s wise, if symptoms become extreme, to break it early.
