Metaboost Program Legit?

Hello all, my mom recently found a program called Metaboost by Meredith Shirk. I looked at it myself, and there are a couple red flags. It is supposed to cater specifically to women over 40, but I have a feeling that it is not as good of a program as it seems. Generally speaking, I have good knowledge on nutrition and fitness, but wanted to get other opinions and feedback on this program. I looked into her credentials on the NASM website, and they seem legit. Any advice, opinions, or people who have tried the program, would be great to hear, thank you!

Edit: it claims to have superfoods specifically for women over 40 that helps boost metabolism, reduce inflammation, and lose weight. She claims that combining certain foods together in a meal increase the benefits (example: cinnamon, ginger, lemon peel, hot water). My mom has been searching for more info, but it seems pretty well paywalled, and is saying “LIMITED TIME OFFER $30 instead of $100, sign up now or you might miss out!” Which is honestly the biggest red flag. Thank you again.

Breads, such as whole-grain flatbread and baked breads, do something to my body weight, that’s not conducive to weight loss. For some reason, my weight didn’t go down for 15 days in spite of dieting and exercise. Those 15 days also coincided with my purchase of a big bag of whole-grain ‘roti’ flour.

As soon as I reduced my intake of bread, my weight went down.

From a calorie count, I’m not sure why my weight went down after reducing my wheat. My theory is that bread is slow to leave the digestive tract and it retains a lot of water. So although you’re not losing weight, you’re not getting fat either.

What do you think? Also, water retention aside, is wheat healthy?

Answer

I have a theory which I’m currently testing since I’m a hard gainer and want to get bigger at the gym, even while eating 3000kcal per day I’m only getting leaner instead of bulkier only weighing 77kg at 180cm.

Chicken according to internet has a 2-3 hours digestion time since it’s lean, beef has a 4-6 hours digestion time because it’s fat.

Instead of eating 300g chicken or 300g beef for lunch, for the last 2 weeks I’ve been eating 150g chicken and 150g beef. My theory is that you digest chicken for 2-3 hours then you have another 2-3 hours to digest the beef and not fall into a catabolic state.

I could be 100% wrong but protein powders also have similar recommendations, whey protein during the day so it’s faster to digest, casein protein at night so it’s slower to digest and more consistent.

Has anyone tried something similar?

Answer

Will I experience any side effects from eating chicken for the first time in 10 years?

I have really considered and I am also a bit unsure still whether to start eating chicken again. I am currently pescatarian (fish + vegetarian) and am looking to increase my sports performance even further.

Hi, I have a question about the food I would need to consume.

So you guys have an idea I’m 5’11 and weight around 180 lbs.

I am currently playing for a 3rd division professional soccer/football ⚽️ team.

I’m a little bit chubby and I want to lose fat and turn it into muscle.

We train for 2 intense hours under the hot sun. Usually 3 PM.

To lose fat I want to just eat tuna and crackers for a week. I try to do as many sit ups as I can and overall just work the core to try to get a 6 pack.

My main concern is the food I should be consuming I want to go on a calorie deficit, however I can’t because if I do go on a calorie deficit I would feel like I lack energy during the intense training sessions.

Thank you for your time and take care 🙏
