Should I give up sugar?
I (M19) am considering going cold Turkey on added sugars. Regular sugars, fine. But added sugars, none. I’m thinking since we obviously don’t need sugar, I will likely be healthier without it. However, I am a 127 lb, actively working out 19-year-old. Do I really need to worry about added sugars? Should I even give up sugars? Or is it going to be detrimental to my overall health? I don’t know why it would be or wouldn’t be. I’m not at all versed in nutrition.
31M here. Last year I was unfortunately diagnosed with high blood pressure (normal BMI, maybe more on the underweight side, quite fit, 10k+ steps everyday etc.)
So I have to cut out everything salty. I switched to peanuts, almonds, lots of dairy (protein yogurts & shakes), eggs etc.
The problem is that my main source of protein or gaining weight is dairy, which is unfortunately also inflammatory (noticing it with my body).
So what sources of protein are there without salt, much dairy or refined sugar? I‘m also working a lot so the time to cook is limited
