Answer

What would make me gain more weight? A bowl of oatmeal by itself, or a bowl of oatmeal with some peanut butter?

The bowl of peanut butter will have more calories, but the fats will slow the absorption of the oatmeal, thus reducing the insulin spike, this reducing the increasing of fat cells due to the insulin.

The bowl of oatmeal by itself will spike the insulin harder, thus causing increased weight gain, but there is less actual calories.

How do these factors even out, and which one will cause more fat gain?
