Randomly gained even more weight upon starting OMAD???

Started OMAD a week ago. I have one large meal of 1500 calories max in the afternoon (at around 2 PM). Otherwise, I’m used to IF 18:6 regimen but fell off the wagon during Christmas holidays and gained 5 lbs (also 2 inches around my waist and 1 inch around my thighs). Been trying to get rid of them since but nothing was working so I just said screw it and started OMAD in hopes it would be the solution. However now I gained 2 lbs more??? Any explanations and advice please?

Answer

Eat adequate protein every single day, and enough fat to help you feel comfortable throughout the day. Limit everything else you consume besides those things. Put your scale in the closet for now, and just stick to that way of eating. Get the scale back out in a month or two, and rejoice.

Answer

It’s the calories. Plain and simple. Double check on an online calculator what you need to eat to lose weight. My guess is 1500 is too much. That’s maintenance for me - if I ate that I wouldn’t lose. No one can tell you your sweet spot though - but use a calculator and go from there. If you aren’t losing that’s the issue.

Carbs aren’t the problem. Sure, if you want to do keto fine. But even with keto, if you eat too many calories you don’t lose weight. So, I’d worry more about the calories than type of foods right now.

Answer

Change the food. No pasta. Limit carbs to veggies, rice, maybe some corn tortilla chips, and limit your intake of those foods. Eat some sweet grapes or banana with peanut butter for dessert instead of sugary treats. Drink a huge glass of water before you eat.
