Re-feeding after a 7 day fast. How am I doing?

Just finished a 7 day fast and now I’ve started the referring process. I’m doing Two days of liquids, then I’m going to start actual foods on the 3rd day. Staying strictly Keto.

Here’s my plan:

First 48 hrs I’ll be drinking organic bone broth. With my supplements into it.

1 tsp of virgin olive oil or MCT

1 Tsp of nutritional yeast (on the second day and there after

1 scoop of green juice

500mg of magnisium

1/4 tsp of sea salt. I was doing 1/2 tsp but I’m accounting for the sodium in the bone broth.

1/2 Tsp of baking soda

1/2 Tsp potassium (the No salt food seasoning)

Vitamin Super B-complex x2 a day

One multivitamin, vitamin D3 and maybe a 1000mg of vitamin C

I’m planning on continuing the supplements for 4 days even after I start eating proteins on day three. I think I’ll start slow with fish and greens. Then move up to red meats and eggs.

How’s that sound? This is my first prolonged fast, I was nervous about the re-feeding since I’ve read about the dangers. If I get this down, I will definitely do it again. So got passed my plateau and I’m down -11 pounds, blood pressure is great and overall just feel good.

Thanks in advance.

Answer

Everyone refeeds differently. I tend to be okay breaking much more rapidly with some bone broth, yogurt, and probiotic (fermented cabbage etc), or miso soup, kefir etc in small amounts eaten slowly over say 30 minutes. I then wait about 2-3 hours, and eat a proper but healthy meal, fish, sausage, veg, somewhat low carb. Then I pay the usual price of needing to be near the bathroom for like the rest of the night (do….not…trust……a……fart). After that the GI is back to normal.

In fact, I’m breaking a roughly 10 day fast in a few hours….exactly like this!
