Recommendation for Exercise plan with IF

Hi All,

Male 51. Looking to embark on a return-to-fitness. Will be starting IF. Looking for an exercise program too. Weights / walking running program, etc. Thanks in advance.

My recommendations are always the bodyweight routine from Hybrid Calisthenics. He does a really great job breaking down variations of the exercises depending on each persons starting level. And then add a 30 min brisk walk to each day.

Keep at that until it’s habit. Then find what’s interesting and fun for you. If you find you like lifting weights do that, same for running, hiking, sports, etc. The best routine is one you’ll stick with and want to do.

Are you overweight? There is evidence that gentle exercise while losing weight is better as it doesn’t trigger stress and cortisol response, or make you extra hungry. Walking, yoga, etc. Then once you are close to the size you want increase weightlifting or cardio, whatever you are into.
