Hola mis amigos. I’d like to do a full day fast to kick start my return to IF. What recs do you all have for electrolytes, things to sip/chew on (if anything) to get through those 24 hours? My problem now is that i binge at the end of a shorter fast. Figured a full 24h would reset my stomach.
My better fasting days are the ones where I am occupied. And when I am having a hard time waiting when I’m close to my eating window, I go for a walk if I can. When walking I don’t have access to food nor does my mind wander off to food.
You do not need to reset your stomach by not eating all day. That is a purging mentality. You should work up to extended fasting. You might begin with time restricted eating in which you just eat healthy meals with no snacks in between. Then extend to 16+ hours.
If you have a problem with binging and your response is to not eat for a full day you may be creating a binge/purge cycle. Not everyone here is going to agree with me, but I think it’s important to recognize that you will not get binging behavior under control just by not eating for a full day. That’s extreme if you haven’t been fasting. Work on eating only what’s on your plate. No grazing.
