I do OMAD everyday, i eat once a day for 1 hour and then fast the rest. This is how i maintain my weight and sometimes i lose some, depending on what i eat when I break my fast.
I went for vacation for 2 weeks where i broke all barriers and ate whatever I wanted all day and gained 4 kg. Now that my vacation is done i am fasting again to lose the weight i gained. However, for the first time, 2 weeks have passed and i am not losing any weight. I have cut sugar for 2 weeks and i am only eating healthy food (salad, chicken, eggs). I am minimizing carbs to the minimum also.
Just to mention before my holidays i was a heavy sugar eater, like i can 5 bars of chocolate everyday, but this never affected my weight loss for some reason. I used to maintain my weight by doing OMAD.
Did this happen to anyone or can someone understand what is happening?
Happening to me right now. Went a bit off the rails in December (2 weeks of maintenance, not even cheat days where I went over TDEE). Resumed strictly on Jan 1st. Did my first weigh in for the month and my weight is still the same.
I’m guessing your body really liked the sugar and is reluctant to part with it. I suspect it will give up after a while and weight loss will occur. If you really want to see a quicker result, you may want to do a 36 or 48 hour fast. Burn it out of your system.
Two weeks? Give it another 2 weeks.
Hormones, salt intake, even bowel movements can cause swings in weight.
And while it’s okay to eat <1000 calories for a short time, I wouldn’t recommend going from bingeing for 2 weeks to severe caloric restriction for 2 weeks often.
