Rolling Fasts to Manage Keto Rash

Hi friends! I have a question for those who follow rolling 48s or 72s instead of doing prolonged fasts because of keto rash.

I was so excited to complete my first three-day water fast a couple weeks ago. I then pursued a four-day fast and noticed a weird rash on my chest and back on the fourth day—not itchy, raised, or annoying in any way aside from just being where it shouldn’t have been. When I ate for a couple days, the rash went away. I then tried for a five-day fast and noticed, again on the fourth day, the rash coming back with a vengeance. I have since broken my fast and, on my third day of eating, it has almost disappeared again.

It seems like prolonged fasts are out of the question for me. Has anyone else dealt with this? Did rolling fasts do the trick for you? What did you do?

My life. I have to stick to 3-4 day fasts because after day 4 my rash, the very ichy, bumpy, horrible kind comes to ruin my life. I get it on my chest and sides primarily and it’s a persistent itch with bumps that leave me with permanent scars.

For me I can’t get rid of the bumps until I eat a really high carb meal, so I can’t break with keto like a lot of people do which is regrettable. I’m sorry you have to deal with that. So far I’ve heard of a lot of methods from people who claim to know how to either avoid it or make it go away fast. I don’t know if any of these methods work because I’m too afraid to get the rash again, so I just stick with 72s or up to 4 if I feel daring, I break with carbs. Can’t go more than that, though. Haven’t had the rash since I started that. Hope you can find a fasting schedule that works for you
