Running out of ideas for electrolytes. Looking for help on which salt to use.

I was going to get Dr bergs electrolytes but it’s pretty expensive just like LMNT and it just doesn’t make sense if I’ll be using them 1-2x a day.

I started getting back into fasting and I’m feeling lethargic so I know I need to keep up with my electrolytes.

I used to use pink salt but found out about the heavy metals within it and it really worried me into a spiral of research.

I read about table salt and sea salt containing micro plastics and with a plethora of options online, I just don’t know where to even start.

Any tips? Would love to definitely get something that includes potassium. Would Morton’s lite salt work?

Answer

I used generic ‘lo’ salt to great effect so far (soon 2 years). 50% salt, 40% potassium-chloride, 9% magnesium-sulfate, 5ppm iodine.

All issues with leg cramps and light-headedness went away, and hunger reduction too.

I think snake diet channel on YT has a recipe for supposed ‘correct’ ratio, but I just go by taste myself. I also salt my meals with unrefined ‘beach’ salt.
