How long is it safe to fast if I’m doing thirty to sixty minutes of weight training every day?
This is a controversial subject.
I do strength training, and I do cutting. strength training, cutting. rinse and repeat.
Muscles are built in the kitchen. What you do at the gym triggers what happens to the food you eat. If you are trying to do true fasting, there is no way in hell I’d be breaking down muscle in the weight room on a true fast.
Like I said, this a controversial subject and I’m sure someone will come along and tell me their body defies thermodynamics and natural philological processes and actually is able to build muscle out of nothing while fasting.
But there are NO pathways to produce protien from fat. However if you tear down muscle there are physiological pathways to turn protien into glucose it’s called gluconeogenesis.
I do normal activity. Lift light, and do light cardio (e.g. walking) when I’m fasting. Nothing more.
