all water that is not deionized, distilled or demineralized contains salts. In the case of sodium chloride, table salt is added by some people but it will not bring any benefit, instead using mineral water will have more effect as it has a wide range of diluted salts.

For me, the amount of salt I add to food seems to suffice. But I’m not a runner nor prepping for a colonoscopy, so have no compelling need to restore electrolytes with special beverages. If I did, I’d go for chicken broth rather than salt water, for palatability.
