Seeking advice from people with periods/cycles that do prolonged fasting - 36 or 72 hours

I plan to do a regular 36 hour fast for weight loss and mental health - maybe once a month or every two months not sure yet - until I reach my GW. I have 11kgs to lose. Any recommendations on how often should I do it for weight loss are greatly appreciated. And I am wondering if anyone had any issues with irregular periods when doing prolonged fasting regularly . I usually do OMAD or 19/5 but not sure how often can I do regular prolonged fasting. The videos and research that I’ve done online are non-conclusive. IF if anything helped me with my period’s pains, cravings and food binge the days before my period. And my periods are now also more regular since starting IF in 2021 and my mental health & energy also are much better.

P.S: I’ve done two longer fasts before - 52 hours and 80 hours and felt fantastic during that time with no issues with my cycle but not sure of the impact of doing it regularly.

Answer

I did MWF fasts consistently pre-Holiday season. I’d have about 42-44 four fasts 3 times a week. The first few weeks were hell trying to do it with just water then electrolytes (Snake Juice) which gave me the shts. I found what worked for me was coffee. Soon I went extra lenient and added heavy cream to my coffee.

Maybe it broke my fasts, maybe technically I was only doing super low calorie days because of it. Whatever the case, the cream allowed me to not consume full meals until the next day. Some days I’d be doing heavy cardio (tennis) with no post-workout meals bit I felt fine. 32 lbs lost so far and will continue to be doing this until I reach a plateau
