me and my girlfriend were talking and i said that if there was a beer on the market that was low in calories like a michelob ultra but had like 5 grams of protein that it would do great on the market. she then proceeds to tell me that it would be terrible because all protein drinks are thick. so hypothetically speaking would a protein beer be thick or could it have the consistency of a regular beer ?

Answer

It would do great especially if you use hydro isolate, or maybe a collagen. Those protein shakes she’s probably referring to use so many different additives to make it thick like an actual milkshake. The protein itself doesn’t do that in most cases, so that probably why she thinks it’ll be thick. Sounds like a good idea

Answer

I think she’s right that it would not taste great to most people after tasting Gatorade with added protein. I’m not sure it would seem thick but I suspect it would detract from the favorable flavor of the beer.

Answer

You could make a protein beer. The problem is it would be filling. And it’d be hard to sell a lot of them because then you’d fill up. Remember, 90% of the beer sales are to alcoholics. They want to drink 10 beers a night and not fill up.

That said, I’m sure there is a niche for a protein shake beer if it tasted okay. Probably hard to make though.

Also, Bailey’s has protein in it. Although it’s mostly fat.

Answer

I don’t know about taste, but the problem is it would not be as low calorie as michelob ultra.

Alcohol has calories. Michelob ultra tastes like water because they basically already took out everything they can calorie wise so almost all that’s left is the alcohol calories and a small amount of carbs.

If you add protein, you now have the alcohol calories + the protein calories. So unless you remove some alcohol it’s necessarily going to be more calories than current very light beers.

Answer

We have this in Australia.https://bodiez.com/ Might be other countries too. I don’t know. But it is the same as gatorade/powerade except high protein. They have different ranges. Lowest is 15g protein.

Answer

I had a Muslim non alcoholic beer in Thailand that had protein Vitamins and minerals. It wasn’t horrible for what it was so I’d say it’s possible. I personally don’t see it selling to well though. I drink beer for beer and eat proteins for protein but that’s just me.

Answer

Alcohol is made by letting sugar be eaten by bio organisms like yeast to make alcohol as a byproduct. Mixing protein inorder to make alcohol “healthy” is the equivalent of taking shit and trying to reprocess it into an apple. U might end up with pear tasting shit but it’s still shit
