I would focus on eating healthy satisfying meals and figuring out how to stop binging. Make sure you’re eating enough fat and protein at meals. Also you’re at a very good weight and still growing; having some body fat is important.
Hi! At your age, it sounds like the fat accumulation you mentioned might just be your body shape changing. Recomposition will happen to everyone eventually. I would also think that a lot of your classmates with straighter body types are envious of your body type! Just focus on being healthy for now.
Add me to the no fasting advice already present on this thread.
I would add, find something you enjoy doing actively. Doesn’t need to be a competitive sport as that is not for everyone. But getting active is for everyone as it is good for you. Whether it is hiking, lifting, swimming, climbing, rucking, sports, barre, yoga, etc. Find something to get your body moving. We all come in different shapes and sizes, but healthy activity combined with eating well is the best foundation you can set at this age.
Good luck.
Fasting in this case, at a healthy BMI , is only going to cause your body to eat muscle tissue. Fat at the hips and thighs is totally normal for a teenage girl and for a woman. If you would like to reduce it somewhat, you are better off strength training. Get into yoga, or get a kettlebell routine going, or if it suits your disposition, get a gym membership and do some heavy lifting. It’s really all about finding the activity you enjoy.
Some tips instead of fasting.
Eat only at mealtime, with no snacking in-between meals. This will be your biggest contribution to burning fat as your body changes.
give up sugar and artificial sweetners except as an occasional treat.
You still have a growth spurt ahead of you and your body will put on a bit of fat before you go thru a growth spurt. This is normal, So don’t worry about a bit of fat at your age. You need the fat for brain development and muscle and bone.
