Should I start a Dry Fast to tackle a Viral Infection?

I was planning to do a 5 Day Dry fast leading into the new year I have become unwell via a viral infection (Cold / Flu). Should I carry on with the Dry Fast or wait until I am 100% first?

I am aware of the benefits of dry fasting that’s the main reason I wanted to attempt 1 but I’m not sure what to do whilst I have a viral infection?

Any advice is much appreciated.

TIA

Answer

I suggest search this sub over the past few months. This has come up several times.

Short version is some research literature indicates do not fast during a viral outbreak, but good results after.

That said, some of the community have seen good results fasting during a cold/flu, though I recall a recent post where the virus came back after ending the fast.

Personally, I’d suggest a 24-hour DF, refeed with broth and see how your body reacts before going for a longer stretch.

If you do DF please share with a new post. This is a topic a lot of folks seem interested in.
