Should nicotine be avoided when fasting?

I use Zyn nicotine salt pouches. I am also curious if the synthetic sweetener in it causes enough of a insulin spike to break a fast? Obviously nicotine curbs hunger so it’s helped me with a 24 hour fast

Answer

I would avoid it while fasting. Especially if it has a sweetener in it. Nicotine withdrawal isn’t as bad as the media/corporations make it out to be. It’s usually just a couple of bad days, maybe a week, then it gets progressively better. I think quitting and fasting would be a better way to go.

I smoked for 35+ years. Vaping helped me finally to stop smoking for the last time 5 years ago. I use 3 mg nicotine in my favorite vaping liquid now I buy online. I even quit vaping and smoked for a year thinking if I smoked I would be able to loose weight. That didn’t work duh.

I used to make my own liquid to vape before it was mass produced. All the recipes I made were sweetened with liquid Stevia. I would think you could email the company to see what ingredients they are using. I am not familiar with Zyn though.

I have lost 100+ pounds Keto and IF. I have done fasts of 24hrs, 48hrs and 72hrs. Vaping has never stopped me or stalled me while loosing weight. I have lost the loose skin I had so I doubt it stopped Autopagy for me personally. This is just my personal opinion also.

Good luck to you!

They don’t cause insulin spikes. If you need the nicotine, you will be fine. I would not recommend quitting nicotine while fasting because that is incredibly difficult but it is not worth it to pick up nicotine in order to fast.
