Imo, no. Dry fasting was way easier for me than water fasting. I started with water fasting without knowing about dry fasting and it was def tougher mentally, especially dealing with constant hunger pangs. With dry fasting, I experience hunger pangs once in a while, sometimes none at all.
I find running 5 times a week about one hour per day does a better job at mentally preparing for the discipline. be sure to use ice packs on the hurt areas after the run. nose breathing helps a lot here
