Sleeping less

Since cutting down food a lot, I noticed I’m sleeping way less. On average 6 hours to 4 last night. I still feel same as I did before but with slightly more energy in the morning. Why is this happening? I used to sleep 12 to 16 hours a day 2 months ago and now it’s gone down so significantly. I’m not complaining if I’m more productive throughout the day, just wanna know.

Answer

The first 3 nights I was getting about 4 hours of sleep, I felt fine but was sleeping much less than normal, then on day 4 (today for me) I slept 8 hours and I feel really well rested. I think it has something to do with cortisol levels rising at the beginning of a fast and then leveling off further into it and normalizing itself again.
