Slow Bowel Movement on OMAD and Dirty Keto?

I’ve been doing OMAD for a while now but I don’t use the bathroom everyday. I don’t feel bloated at all and feel fine typically but I know this was not how it used to be. I take potassium, magnesium, zinc, d3, fish oil everyday but apparently I’m taking magnesium citrate which is bad? Also I’ve heard I should take magnesium supplement twice a day, one when I eat and then at night. Anyone experience this and have any tips?

I consume a good amount of veggies but I’ll admit not a variety, typical just broccoli and green beans. I’ve also heard too much fiber could cause this? I’m very confused and need help!

If you’re not in pain from not having a BM (bowel movement) each day, and your BMs look healthy I would try not to stress about it especially if you know you’re eating well.

When you’re fasting, you’re not eating as often so therefore will have BMs less often.

If it’s still a major concern to you and you’re having difficulty passing BMs or they become an odd color, maybe it’s time to talk to your doctor about it. Good luck to you!

Answer

Fiber and eating plants/vegetables cause constipation. Most of your fecal matter is fiber and garbage that we cannot digest as well as waste produced by the bacteria that have to break down and ferment plants in your gut.

I personally eat only milk and beef/bacon/sausage and typically only #2 once every 2-3 days. I am also in and out in about two minutes.
