Smelling Ammonia

I am randomly smelling ammonia. I read that it could be impaired kidney function, liver damage, or eating too much protein. I took the vinegar/baking soda shot, but I wonder if anyone else has experienced this and what you did to resolve it.

Answer

Made a run on a diabetic yesterday (fire fighter). Their blood sugar was over 500. The ketones could be smelled at the front door.

Have you checked your ketosis with strips. I bet when you smell NH3 you are in strong ketosis.
