Snake juice with mineral sparkling water?

For the last 5 or so years, I’ve completely replaced regular water with mineral carbonated water (no taste, no color). It has (per 1L, in mg) = natrium(255), calcium(110), magnesium(54), potassium(20), iron(<0.05), bicarbonate(1251), iodous acid(45), chloride(11), sulphate(11), fluoride(1,3), carbon dioxide(3000). I’m planning on starting snake juice tomorrow. Should I replace my carbonated water with something else for this diet? Also, as a beginner, should I do 48-refeed-72 (1 week)? And a refeed should not go over 500 calories a day? Thank you.

Forgot to mention - I’m a WFH dev, I absolutely NEED my large cup of espresso. I can go without food, but don’t take coffee away please. How bad is coffee for this diet? Shouldn’t it be good since it represses appetite and promotes autophagy?

Answer

Drink all the carbonated water you want but I’d bet your thirst / water intake drops pretty significantly. Mine did. I was the 100oz a day guy and now sometimes I don’t finish my 2liters of snake juice. YMMV

I like the advice to go as long as you can for the first one and then set a routine (72 hours is more than enough). That said I’ve been all over the place with my fasted lengths and refeeds and I’m down 25lbs in 1.5 months.

My sweet spot is dinner on Sunday and then I won’t eat until late morning on Wednesday. I’ll likely eat until the evening and then back on the fast until Saturday morning and I’ll eat all weekend. Rinse and repeat. I’ve done lots of variations. Sometimes a short window of eating and low carb. Thanksgiving was 5 days of eating whatever I wanted.

I like the 60 hours or so because the way I do it 48 would be dinner and if I skip I feel like I’m getting free fasted hours when I’m asleep.

Good luck. If you want to follow a strict plan because that works for you by all means do it. If you’re in it for the long haul you can tweak. I’m at a point where not eating is my default state and I have to remind myself that it’s eating day.
