Spontaneously decided to 20:4

I usually 16:8 and I was getting to 18:6 on some days and today I just thought… I’m not losing much from 16:8 and I should push myself a bit more.

Any tips for getting through it? I saw something about ice cubes but idk if that’s good or bad

Answer

I moved from 18:6 to 20:4 / 22:2 recently. My main advice is consistency makes it easier. It took me about 2 weeks to get used to it.

How do you cope? Use absolutely everything in your power (within fasting limits) to get through it in the first 14 days and it will definitely get easier and easier. For me, hot lemon + ginger tea, iced black coffee, or even one of those zero calories drinks (without artificial sweeteners) if you really have to. Once you get used to it, coping will be in the past.

And don’t forget to drink loads of water and perhaps increase your protein intake for the day.

Good luck and happy fasting!
