Stalled loss and low blood glucose

54M OW:250 CW:228 GW:185

Been doing 8:16 since Mar 2021. NSV - my clothes are all pretty loose and face is noticeably thinner.

A couple of weeks ago I hit 226, So 25 lbs in 40 weeks.

Up to now I have not had much reaction, but recently my blood glucose dropped enough to give symptoms, specifically it was hard to concentrate, so I took some measurements, 88 at end of fast, 160 sometime in the middle of my eating window and 130 before bed.

It also feels like my weight loss is either slowing or reversing. So much so that I tried 6:18 for a couple of weeks.

Anyone have thoughts on the either difficulty to concentrate or stalled weight loss.

Please add some good quality fats to your diet! I find avocado’s work really well, if you don’t like them plain by themselves, add some kiwi’s to them & eventually you will like the avocados by themselves. you need the fats to help keep your blood sugar levels even!

Eggs are great! 50% fat 50% protein.

Answer

88 mg/dL is typically not considered hypoglycemic. Hypoglycemia is usually considered to start below 70 mg/dL. You probably should talk to a doctor about why you’re experiencing hypoglycemia symptoms when your blood sugar is squarely in the normal range (normal fasting blood sugar is 70-100 mg/dL).
