Snacking is literally SO bad for you. Its the reason most people have blood sugar level issues and gain belly fat. People are more likely to eat snacks they see, so take them out of your daily visual cues. If you want chips or whatever other nasties you snack on eat them with your one daily meal till your face is stuffed then forget about it till the next day. Sooner or later your addiction will end and you wont want the snacks. Also, there is no rule you need to skip breakfast. My 1 meal a day is breakfast and it makes life so much easier.

My biggest thing as a teacher is just not bringing food with me in the first place. If I don’t bring the food and stay in my room to work through lunch there’s no chance at temptation. A coworker and I even joke about IF being the “teacher diet” because we get too busy to eat breakfast and lunch anyway. Now that I’ve been on this for a while you also start to realize how mediocre most snacks that get offered are anyway. It’s become very easy to turn down a random bag of chips or slice of generic sheet cake for a celebration because they just legit aren’t worth breaking my fast over. I’ve got the control now to just horde the snacks that are offered up on occasion and give them to hungry students when they ask.
