Food for thought. I think what makes this diet so great, is we are going along with the natural way our body wants to store and then lose fat. It’s natural to not eat and utilize fat for energy. It’s not natural to eat in a calorie deficit and lose fat. I’m 38 hours into my 6th 65 hour fast. On refeed days, I eat maintenance (2700kcal) but create a deficit through lifting weights. All of my compound lifts are still increasing with this method. In short, I wouldn’t recommend 500kcal refeeds.
