Sorry if this has been asked, but I’m thinking about trying IF and was wondering if stevia breaks a fast. I’d like to use it in my coffee (black, of course) but am concerned it’ll disrupt my fast.
Stevia, or any sugar or sweetener, will stop you from breaking down your tolerances. It’s a big deal. It’s why you feel like you need to have it. It will also cause your body to release insulin which breaks your fast.
I’ve not verified this myself yet however Someone told me in another post I made (about Vitamin C) today that in a hormone level anything that tastes sweet breaks your fast because it causes your body to release insulin.
It comes up a lot - different names, different additives - and all I can say is it’s worth it to adjust to naked black coffee or switch to naked black tea. It makes the whole thing simpler and easier.
