Stomach grumbling and trapped gas

As the title suggests. I have been doing IF for over three years now on average 21 hours a day with a three hour eating window (in effect OMAD that I space out).

My biggest struggle is the discomfort I regularly feel with grumbling stomach and trapped gas. It even affects concentration at work. I don’t feel hungry, I am super used to IF and I love it.

I take simeticone pills to release the gas but I am wondering if others have gone through the same and what would they suggest to solve the problem. My diet is varied and consists of a fruit and vegetable loaded smoothie and some protein. I have lactose intolerance so consume only plant-based milks and lactose free yogurt. I have not visited any doctor about this issue. It could also be an underlying condition and if so I wonder what.

Thanks for your advice.

Answer

I started getting this problem around age 30, when eating mostly vegetables and fairly lean protein. I was slow to realize so, ended up wit crippling IBS. Now I avoid vegetables and lean proteins like the plague. My best friends have become butter, aged cheese (zero lactose), ground beef/lamb, salami/bacon. Oh, and I can consume things like cocoa powder and tomato puree without problems.

But that’s just me. Each person has to experiment to find what they themselves tolerate the best. I am sure you will figure it out.
