Strategies for Closing the Eating Window

Hi All. I’ve tried IF several times to lose weight for a few years now. No real progress, but I really enjoy the simplicity of it. I have no problem waiting until 3 or 4pm to eat my first meal. But trying to stop eating after 9pm is when I usually fail. Clearly it’s emotional eating and I just need to apply some behavioral changes. Going to bed is the most obvious choice, and I’ve also had success with brushing my teeth to tell my brain that “the kitchen is closed!” But I’m wondering if any of you could share your own strategies. Thanks!

Answer

You are saying that your first meal is 3 to 4 pm. When is your second meal? Just before 9 or earlier?I try to cut my calories and macros equally between my two meals. Sometimes I prefer lighter dinner. In your case, maybe you would do better if you have heavier dinner. More kcal, protein, fat, and carbs.
