Struggling with Getting Past 24 Hours

I have done some extended fasts over the years. Multiple 5 and 7 days. A 14 day once upon a time. I know the science and listen to podcasts etc.

I know this stuff!

And yet here I am every day struggling to get past the 24 hour mark. Boredom, food addiction, and more.

Anyone else?

Same here. I’m new to fasting, only started this year. When i started out, I could do it. 3 and a half days is my personal record. I dunno what it is. Stress after work? Tiredness mixed in with stress? I’d swear to myself i’d stick to it at morning, but by midday, i’d be eating again, almost unconsciously. Getting pretty tired of repeated attempts like that, so for now im pulling back and regrouping, trying to figure this out.

If anyone got tips, I’d love to hear about them.

What helped me get back into the longer ones was to start with short fasts and breaks, then I slowly reduced the lengths of the breaks. Eating strictly keto during the breaks also helps a ton! It’s gets you into ketosis which is a huge appetite suppressant. Hope this helps you get closer to your goals!

What about timing it so the 24hr mark falls during the morning? Start your fast at lunch time instead of bedtime.

I hadn’t fasted for a few weeks and recently tried to get back into, but I’d let my diet go a bit and the sugar cravings were awful. I got through it by staying busy at work and not being home in the evenings. Focusing on water intake helps a lot too.
