Success Stories

One thing I see very little of that we need more of in all of the diet links are success Stories. How else do we know if it works. Opinions and ideas are great but worth nothing if they do not work and how does anyone know if you only hear of an occasional person it actually worked long term for. Is fasting Hype or does it really work. Please tell us your success stories.

Answer

I started in February 2017 after being diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. I got the news from my doctor, and was told I would be starting on drugs if I had a second bad A1C (Was 7.0 at the time).

I had fatty liver disease, type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, psoriasis, sleep apnea, and was 335 pounds.

I started looking around the internet, and of course found Reddit. People were talking about keto “helping”. Then I found the talks by Jason Fung on youtube, and decided I was doing his plan.

3 months (yes, 3 months) after I started, I lost over 80 pounds. I didn’t cheat once. I only focused on dropping my insulin, and nothing else. I didn’t even care about my weight, I just wanted to be healthy.

My next A1C after diagnosis was 4.8. My fatty liver disappeared, I was down 80 pounds, and my asthma completely vanished.

My following A1C was 4.7, three months later. I dropped another 20 pounds, and my blood pressure completely normalized.

Today it’s been a year, and I am still down the weight, and now trying to lose the rest. I took 3 months “off” going on vacation, and the holidays, and I didn’t gain much back. My blood sugar response is still normal, and I feel fantastic.

I now run a support group of about 100+ friends, and friends of friends. The average weight loss is 40 pounds since I started it last September.

Intermittent fasting has changed my life, and the life of many of my friends. I plan to keep doing it forever. I enjoy the times when I am not fasting, and I actually enjoy it when I do fast. I feel great, and it’s a VERY powerful tool to help us get control of our health.

I owe it all to Jason Fung.
