Successful long term?

Have you been successful keeping weight off long term using intermittent fasting? I see a lot of stories about people being able to lose 50 or 100 pounds but I always wonder if people are successful keeping the weight off.

Answer

It just becomes my lifestyle. After fasting for so long I literally am unable to return to my old habits. I just can’t eat that much food anymore.

Also, keeping old pics and old clothes around keeps me motivated.

But, mostly, it’s just that IF has become my new lifestyle now and I’m so used to it that it’s just what I do.

Like the others said - it just becomes part of the lifestyle. I’ve tried to tweak it here and there, like extending my Saturday cheat day to start Friday night. I definitely relax when I’m on vacation, and I get pulled into business lunches sometimes. And what I find whenever i deviate much is that the pants start to tighten, and they don’t loosen until I sick to the plan that brought the weight down (low carb OMAD with a Saturday free for all).

Answer

I had made stops of three/four months and if you don’t go nutts with your food intake(meaning eating unhealthy and much more than you need…i mean the way everybody gain weight)and do some exercise (for me is long 1 hour walk)at least once, twice a week is perfectly maintainable. You don’t bounce back to your old weight unless you’re actively doing things to gain weight.
