I do 4 day weekly fasts to fix health markers and to drop weight. I’m loosing about 2 pounds of real weight a week from doing nothing, and while having fairly permissive diet. The worst offenders in the last 5weeks have been ribs and fires, KFC, Popeyes, and shared a Hoagie with onion rings with my daughter. Funny enough most of those meals were to break the fast, afterward I keep it relatively clean.

In 7 more weeks I should hit my target weight of 180# and will have my health markers checked. Ask me again then.

[EDIT]

I should add; it helps you redefine your relationship with food. I’m at the end of my current 4 day fast and there is a box of Krispy Kreme doughnuts here in the office. Of course I’m not going to let that ruin my fast when I’m six hours away from the finish line.

Think about that for a second; I haven’t eating in 90 hours and I have no problems saying no to a doughnut. Funny enough I get more cravings when I’m eating because of the changes in insulin. Having said that I would feel pretty ridiculous not being able to say no to a doughnut a few hours after a meal when I can say no to the same doughnut 90 hours after a meal.

i have done 2 three days fasts and one 4 day fast. next goal is 5 days then 7 days. love the reduction in inflammation i experience and reduced hunger afterwards for weeks. i feel like its helped my insulin resistance as i was full keto before and now im doing more carbs on occasion but dont see myself immediately gain weight from it like i was before i started consistent fasting … helps you drop weight super fast which is nice too. was doing IF before EFs but now I do OMAD since I have such a reduction in hunger. plan it when you dont have anything social planned (what i would do differently) as i would have easily made it to 5 days last time if i didnt have to watch my fiance and sister eat amazing food and enjoy some delicious wine together lol they convinced me to join them & i did so i would just try to keep social calendar as free as possible (i can say no when its just my partner but if anyone else is there i get intense FOMO haha)

That my resting heart rate dropped by 10 bpm and has remained on average around that since I started extended fasting. Also that our bodies are amazingly adaptive and I never realized how programmed I was on feeling the need to eat 3 meals a day.
