See I’m gonna step in here and say… prolonge fasting is dumb for most cases.

Not outright because again, like most things it has a place. its just pointless most of the time. Fast at most for like 3 days, you’ll peak the benefits of long fasting and you run less of a risk.

If you’re obese then sure, under supervision it can be extra helpful.

Another thing, if you don’t have experience doing things like OMAD or long intermittent fasts then you’re going to A fail and B be at risk of being faint, stomach pain, etc. If your current diet isn’t already high quality, nutrient dense then also don’t fast you’re most likely already low in key nutrients.

There is a fasting subreddit which you should look more into for these questions, it’s literally called “fasting”. If you haven’t done fasting to build up to 1-2 weeks I wouldn’t recommend doing this right away.

Look into the different types of fasting, and start slowly to increase at 1-2 weeks bc that is very intense and your body needs to build up to that. Again, tons of research articles online about this than this subreddit on nutrition.

Supplement with heavy salt and other electrolytes. Do it early before symptoms show up. I fast 120hrs a week, as I’m cutting holiday weight. Good luck and don’t listen to naysayers. It’s perfectly healthy when you supplement electrolytes. Our body fat is there for a reason
