Switched from 14:10 to 16:8 this week, feeling very caffeinated

I started IF with 14:10 last week and the schedule just wasn’t working for me to break my fast at 9 am. This week I started 16:8 and yesterday was a bit weird. It was my first 16 hr fast, and for some reason I was seriously wound up, like crazy energy. I’d only had my usual amount of coffee. I was actively working to slow myself down while talking to my wife as I was making lunch, which was a couple of hours since my last coffee.

Is this common?

I get energetic too, it’s like my body is going into hyper-efficiency mode and I just feel…good! I am combining fasting 16:8 with Keto though, and I notice the serious reduction in carb intake leaves me feeling so aware and awake! I’m not sure which is creating the hyper-ness lol

Yeah I think its normal. I get almost manic energy like that too, usually starting around 14-16ish hours into a fast.

Take advantage of it and keep moving! I use that energy to get chores done before dinner or hit the gym

I feel energetic towards the end of a long fast. Sometimes, not too often, I skip a meal and do 23 hours or even skip a day and do 40. You’d think I’d be craving food by the end of these like I sometimes am at the end of only 16 hours but usually I end up eating because I think I ought to eat instead. I’ve never continued to see when I actually would be hungry.
