Answer

You need salt when doing extended fasts. It won’t break your fast. I’d recommend Pink Himalayan Salt. Put some in water or black coffee.

Iodized salt will do if you’re in a pinch, but I wouldn’t recommend it being a staple.

Answer

Minerals like salt, potassium, and magnesium won’t break the fast.

But you only need them on extended (3 or more days) fasts.

So if you’re eating every day, don’t worry about it. For longer fasts, check the sidebar of r/fasting for more info on this.
