Table salt vs. Sea salt?

I’ve been supplementing electrolytes using table salt, no salt, and magnesium supplements. My understanding was that iodized table salt is best, so you’re still getting some iodine on a fast.

I recently came across this video from Dr. Berg saying that sea salt is better and now I’m confused. Which should I be using for supplementing electrolytes while water fasting?

Answer

I would go with sea salt because you’ll be getting a lot of trace minerals that pure sodium chloride can’t give you. I don’t know that iodide content of sea salt, but if you’re worried about it you can supplement iodine. I personally use Himalayan salt which has no iodine, so I do supplement it.
