Taking medication during snake juice fast

Hey everyone, I’m new-ish to Reddit and new to the Snake Diet subreddit, but have years of experience with IF and extended fasting (but so far only up to 5 or 6 days). I have at least 67 pounds to lose and really want to do a longer snake juice fast, but I’m not sure about taking my prescriptions during the fast. I always have before. I take pills for insulin resistance & PCOS that I’ll be able to stop once I get the weight off. For anyone else who takes related medications, do you stop them during an extended snake juice fast, or do you keep taking them? I’m concerned about not being on a ‘true’ fast if I’m still swallowing pills every day. (And don’t worry, I won’t take your responses as medical advice! Just looking for opinions and consensus.) Thanks!☺️

Answer

I don’t take meds myself but I would recommend starting the fast whilst still on them and then ease of them through the course of it. You’re going to have mood changes from the new diet so don’t want to add that into the withdrawal. And ofc contact your doctor to inform them of any changes if you ever feel the effects of it have gone too extreme as this medicine takes time to go into effect again.
