On the topic of whole grain cereal; it’s quite easy to make your own. It’s basically granola but with more whole grains and not too much nuts. At the moment I like to I like to mix up buckwheat, bulgur and millet. You can use any standard granola recipe and put in the whole grains you want (and remove the ingredients you don’t want). I like to eat it with a bit of yoghurt as a morning snack.
Whole grains are like the superfood of the carb world. They’re packed with fiber, vitamins, minerals and antioxidants, all of which help keep your heart and digestive system in tip-top shape. Fiber is especially important for heart health because it helps keep cholesterol and blood sugar levels in check. But don’t worry if you’re getting your fiber from other sources like fruits and psyllium husk too, variety is the spice of life, and it’s always good to mix things up. Think of it this way, whole grains are like the superhero sidekicks to fruits and psyllium husk’s lead roles!
