The hard part is over!

I’ve managed to survive most of my Christmas visit with family and being surrounded by delicious gourmet meals around every corner. I was also able to stick to my 16:8 schedule fairly closely.

We had a big Christmas day brunch followed by making homemade pizzas. That was definitely the hardest day of this visit. I managed to not overeat at brunch because I made my own healthy egg dish. However, I was less successful at dinner. I overate pizza and it sat in my stomach for the next 20 hours like a lump of coal :(

I felt sick the next morning but because I was able to fast for 17 hours it enabled me to get my digestion right. After a green smoothie for lunch and soup for dinner I woke up today feeling great!

“Skipping breakfast” ended up being a lot easier than I anticipated and I didn’t need to announce it to anyone. I just acted like I was eating breakfast a bit later in the day. One family member did ask if I wasn’t eating breakfast any longer, and I played it off and said I sometimes just don’t eat first thing in the morning.

So despite having one “bad” eating day (in my window) I was able to bounce back quickly with my usual nightly/morning fast. I hope everyone is starting to feel good after the excess of the holiday. Have a wonderful day! :)

Answer

Over the last 1-2 weeks I’ve actually been very consistent in sticking to my feeding/fasting window (typically 16:8 or 18:6), but I’ve definitely allowed myself to eat more foods that I typically otherwise wouldn’t if it weren’t the holidays.
