The manager blackmailed me with dismissal if I don't start to eat - Colleagues from hell

tldr: be extremely careful who you tell about your diet

At the exact beginning of October this year I strongly decided to get back in shape. Gave my word to myself, and gave my word to my girlfriend. I immediately started with omad + carnivore diet. SW: 101kg/222lbs, CW: 86kg/189lbs. GW is approximately 76kg/167lbs, at that weight I have clearly visible abs etc, btw my height is 179cm/5.87ft. Keep in mind that fitness was a big part of my life, but depression took it away from me 3 years ago.

I feel fantastic. My eczema cleared up. My skin is glowing. The joint pain I have had for years from exercising is gone. I have a lot more energy. I sleep much better. My mental state is completely stable. My nails are no longer cracked. My teeth are thankful. Now I can breathe through my nose. This list could go on and on.

In the beginning, my colleagues supported me. I was open about how I eat, hoping to help at least one person, because most of them have a problem with excess weight. They supported me until they realized that I had achieved good results. Then they started with various negative comments. All of a sudden they have all become expert nutritionists, they feel the need to lecture me about nutrition every day.

Probably the worst example is my manager / director (I’m not sure how it’s correct in English). She is one mentally unstable person, she enjoys controlling other people, she enjoys having power over other people. The way I eat bothers her a lot, and she tries to let me know every day. By the way, she constantly tries to lose weight, and has low self esteem about her weight. To the extent that she even blackmailed me by changing my job, then by firing me. She is trying in every way to get me to stop eating like this, this has become personal for her.

If you have any similar experience, please share. If you have any question feel free to ask, I didn’t want to write too much, and my English is not that good.

It’s funny how people will happily tell you to put down the fork, until you actually put down the fork. Then they are all up in arms. It’s almost as if they need to keep those people in their place, so they can keep ridiculing, and discriminating against them.

First of all, your English is great! I don’t know what to say about the blackmailing. That seems so abusive. Is there a Human Resources office at your place of business? It seems like everything in your life is improving, maybe time for a new job? Easier said than done, I know.

I’ve encountered people who don’t like the fact that I practice intermittent fasting. They say I’m just starving myself and that I “don’t eat”. It is very annoying and sometimes infuriating. But guess what? I’m achieving my goals. It’s my body and I just tell them: don’t worry, I feel great and my health has improved and I actually eat quite a bit. I only explain it once. After that I say nothing. Good luck with this tough situation

I love how you were going to lecture them like you are an expert, but then they did it back to you, they lectured you like they were nutrition experts. You would be pretty annoying. You would be seeking everyone’s approval and validation
