Pulses (beans, peas, and lentils) are one of the recommendations on The Mind Diet. Are regular canned peas acceptable here? I know they’re not usually very popular but they’re a big hit in our household.
Would probably pick frozen peas over canned.Another tip in general, if you want good beans without buying absurd tins worth. Making you own and freezing them in small tubs works a charm (especially with chickpeas).
Personally I’ve never seen canned peas without added sugar, though they must exist. So check for that.
Peas are one of the vegetables whose nutrients are very effectively preserved during freezing. Very easy to add frozen brocolli and edamame beans to a bowl of frozen peas.
