Some sources of protein are more digestible than others; whey is by far the most so, and I think pea and other plant-based ones are the worst. I don’t know how much difference there is, though. If you’re using a plant-based protein, you may need to consume more of it to achieve the same protein synthesis in the body.

I also understand that some proteins aren’t complete, meaning they don’t have all of the EAA’s, though whether the effect of that is different than what I explained above, I also don’t know. If your stomach or your culture don’t allow for you to use whey, it might be worth researching. If whey isn’t a problem, then use that.
