Hello everyone, I’m just curious as if this book is good for also people that cut. I’m not obese or overweight. I just need to lose baby fat and I’ve tried every method that is available on the internet or YouTube. Thanks in advance!
You can watch Dr. Jason Fung on YouTube as well to get the information. That’s what I did and how I ended up on this subreddit as well. His information on *when* to eat, the effects of insulin on your body (the fat storage hormone), and how fasting and eating a high fat diet keeps insulin low is very good for losing fat and health in general. Combine that with knowing the effects of sugar (spikes insulin) and how sugar is in *everything*, especially being drunk in sodas and frappuccinos and in all kinds of solids too - breakfast cereals, sauces like ketchup and terriyaki, etc. Not eating added sugar has a gigantic benefit and, personally speaking, I think should be done first so that intermittent or regular fasting for a day or several is not as difficult without intense sugar withdrawal symptoms on top of normal hunger.
Here’s a Dr. Jason Fung video that I’ve watched several times: https://youtu.be/5F5o0a4p_3U
Here is Dr. Robert Lustig who is also great and speaks on the issues with processed (fiberless) food and sugar. He sees kids with fatty liver at 7 years old from drinking soda: https://youtu.be/nxyxcTZccsE
Hope this helps! What really made me stop eating added sugar and incorporate some fasting was first *understanding* what was happening in my body with insulin levels, what causes them to go up and stay up, and how that stores fat and causes metabolic disease. I’m here to answer questions and talk too.
