Is he legit or a quack?
He wants people to go on the Keto diet so he can drip feed their information with his videos for ad revenue and to promote his own products.
Also a lot of his solutions to health problems is just “StOp EaTiNg CaRbS bRo”.
You’ll get introduced to a lot of worthy topics and info in general, you shouldn’t take anybody’s info as 100% certain either even people with credentials often come up with nonsense stuff such as all vitamin supplements are worthless because you pee them and such
I don’t use him as my ONLY source, but sometimes his videos summarize in 10 minutes what a 1.5 hour video said, so that makes them useful as a TLDR video to share. I mean he promotes whole foods, fasting, lowering insulin resistance, I don’t think many people would have issues with that. The keto part is debateable I guess, I myself feel better on a low carb diet where I eat maybe 2-3 cups of green veggies a day, meat, eggs, nuts and berries. So there might be some confirmation bias there, but I think if you feel best on a lower fat/protein diet then you do you. I ignore the apple cider vinegar stuff, I don’t know enough about it to know if the benefits are real, and I don’t like the stuff so I’m not about to choke it down.
And well, since he’s not offering his advice on my choice of religion or lack of it, i’ll ignore the scientology bit. I mean, correlation not causation right? Him being a scientologist doesn’t automatically discredit everything he says.
Dr. Berg’s video on acne helped me realize that I was suffering from hormonal acne. While he may not be a professional, his study on nutrition is helpful. Just don’t use him as your doctor, because he’s not a doctor. He’s a Chiropractor.
