Thoughts on Jenny Craig Recharge Bar for Fasting?

I’m not a Jenny Craig user, or a fan of fad diet programs. But I saw these “Recharge Bars” in Walgreen’s today which say they can be eaten between hours 12-14 of your fast and not break your fast.

I currently practice 16:8 most days but would like to go longer and I’m wondering if these could help me reach a 20 hour fast?

Everything I’ve read says basically, if it has calories, it breaks your fast.

Answer

Sorry, but it is a lie. These bars as I can see, are about 190 calories per serving. I seriously can’t believe it’s possible to sell something like this and claim they will not break your fast.

But listen if it’s hard for you to get to those 16 hours, do less. Try 14/10 and with time you will get there.

Answer

Unless they are made out of sawdust with a multivitamin embedded in they will most definitely break your fast.
