Throat surgery means I can't eat, day 4 of fasting!

Had a tonsillectomy, growth removed from my voice box and lesions cleaned in my surgery, on Thursday. I am completely unable to eat and I feel like the past 18 months of IF have really helped me prepare for this, I’m on day 4 with out food and I feel totally fine (I’m sure a part of it is pain mediation holding my appetite). I notice that I’m not craving food or feeling hungry, only craving liquids and currently drinking a lot of apple juice and water. So far I don’t feel any hunger pains and still feel I have a lot of energy and happiness. I wonder if it would of been very different if I had not been practicing fasting before this. Has anyone else noticed fasting has improved surgery outcomes or recovery?

Answer

I drank like 1 Ensure Shake a day and was in my late 30’s.

It took me about a good 7 days to feel better. The pain from the tonsils was a breeze from the #2 I had to do after those narcotics giving me constipation.

Best of luck.
