Hi, I'm a 36F with a goal of losing 60 lbs (5'8", SW 230 lbs, GW 170lbs). I am really interested in doing extended fasts (5 days, then 7, 10, 14). I have a couple questions for you more experienced folks:
1. How long have some of you waited between ending an extended fast and starting another? I'm not looking for medical advice, just an idea what you guys have tried.
2. Have you noticed a change in your metabolism after using extended fasting to lose weight? Is it hard to maintain weight loss?

This varies a lot from person to person. Some people like to refeed for as long as the fast was, I do as little as one large meal.

Correct fasting should not slow your metabolism. I recommend reading Fung’s book to understand why.
